Special probes North Star High Voltage VD-60B, VD-120B, VD-180B, etc.

Upgraded "naked" versions of the North Star High Voltage probes are now available for compact installation in oil (or gas) tanks. These probes are similar to the VD series sensors, but have slightly lower accuracy and slightly lower cost. When installing these probes, some information about the surrounding areas is required. The length of the uninsulated probe VD-120 (120 kV) is 0.35 m. These blocks are threaded and therefore can be combined into higher voltage blocks. The VD-60 and VD-120 are offered at 60 kV and 120 kV respectively. Non-insulated sensors are now available for use in the air, but only for sizes 60 and 1120 kV.

Combinations of 180 kV, 240 kV, 300 kV and 360 kV can be easily created. A ratio of 10,000:1 is typical, but other ratios can be provided. Shielded or unshielded sensors can be supplied. Typical accuracy is 1% DC and 1.5% AC.
